Police are searching for suspects after a man was beaten to death outside a Mississauga restaurant with a golf club.

Around 2 a.m. on Monday, Peel Regional Police were called to the parking lot of Tasty Bite restaurant on Torbram Road near Derry Road East.

Police arrived to find Nitish Khanna, 19, with obvious signs of trauma. Khanna died shortly after.

The man was attacked with two friends over words exchanged in the restaurant's bathroom, according to Bhumin Patel, one of the friends.

"They were standing there with the golf clubs. It was totally unexpected, they just came upon us and my friends got hit and Nitish got cornered," said Patel.

Patel said he managed to escape with the other friend and called 911.

Const. Thomas Ruttan said police are looking for five to six male suspects driving a light-coloured four-door vehicle.

Police are appealing for the suspects to turn themselves in and are asking to hear from witnesses. They can be contacted at (905) 453-3311 or at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
