Toronto police have arrested a second man in connection with death threats received by Mayor Rob Ford, as reports surface the mayor has been threatened several other times.

Police say the most recent arrest came after a suspect posted a threat on Ford's Facebook account on July 27. The same suspect is believed to have sent a death threat to the mayor's Twitter account on Aug. 1.

Robert Melville Dunlop was arrested Monday and charged with threatening bodily harm and threatening death.

In July, a 56-year-old man was charged with threatening death after making a call to the city's 311 line.

On Tuesday night, Ford's press secretary Adrienne Batra confirmed that other threats had been made against the mayor, but declined to give any further details.

"Toronto police and Corporate Security are dealing with the threats in an appropriate

Manner," Batra said in a release Wednesday night. "Toronto Police, Corporate Security and the Mayor's Office review and adjust security practices as the situation warrants. It is our policy not to comment further on security matters, for obvious reasons."

When contacted by CTVNews.ca on Wednesday, she said she didn't "have anything further to say on the matter."
