Police say charges will likely be laid after a woman apparently tried to set herself on fire following a massive five-vehicle in North York collision.

The charges would stem from a multi-vehicle crash on Bayview Avenue, near Elmwood Avenue Wednesday evening.

A woman who was involved in the collision walked away from the scene and entered a nearby home on Foxwarren Drive.

Police say owners of the home found her at the stove with all of its gas burners on, in an apparent attempt to harm herself.

She and another driver who was injured in the crash were in hospital Thursday morning. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The other driver, a 50-year-old man, was injured when a piece of wood came through his car's windshield and struck him.

Police said on Thursday that charges could be laid against the woman, who is believed to have been responsible for the crash.
