A security guard was stabbed in the neck on a northwest Toronto subway station platform on Monday afternoon.

The guard, in his 20s, was stabbed after chasing a man from a Zellers store on Lawrence Avenue West to Lawrence West subway station at around 2 p.m. The victim was taken to Sunnybrook hospital for treatment.

Police said the suspect fled the scene. He is described as a black man in his 30s with a light complexion, a slim build and 6'2" tall. He was wearing a hoodie and had a backpack.
