An Oakville, Ont. mother found dead on the same day her estranged husband was fatally shot by police will be remembered this week with public visitations and a funeral.

Katherine Newman, 43, was found dead insider her home at 1151 Treetop Terrace, near Fourth Line and Westoak Trail Blvd in Oakville, on Thursday.

"Above all, was her great commitment and dedication in her role as mother to her three sons whom she loved more than anything else, with exceptional devotion and caring to their hockey, soccer, studies and other extra-curricular activities," read an obituary posted online on Monday.

"Katherine will be deeply missed by her many close friends and neighbours."
