DURHAM, Ont. - A teenage driver is facing charges in connection with a fatal crash just west of Durham, Ont.

Police say the young driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm.

A minivan collided with a transport at the intersection of Grey Road 4 and Hutton Hill Road on Jan. 26, and a pickup truck then collided with the transport.

James Wilton, 17, of Durham, died in the crash. He was a passenger in the van.

Six other people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The accused person cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and police have not provided an age.
