Two people were injured Monday afternoon after a pickup truck smashed through the front window of a fast food restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Emergency officials said a silver truck crashed through the window of the Harvey's on Lundy's Lane at around 2:30 p.m. trapping at least one person under the vehicle.

One man, believed to be in his 70s, and one woman were reported injured in the accident.

The province's air ambulance was also dispatched to the scene.

"Harvey's is working with the Niagara Regional Police to support guests and associates who were on site at the time of the incident," Harvey's franchisee Anne Radojcic said in a statement.

"Safety for our guests and associates at all times is a top priority at Harvey's and I want to thank and commend emergency services and the police for their response and support."

The extent of the injuries was unknown.
