A teenager shot to death in the city's west end Thursday night has been identified as Jaivoan Cromwell, 19.

The shooting occurred at 251 Woolner Avenue, near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue, at about 10:30 p.m.

Toronto EMS treated Cromwell, who had been shot in the chest. He was taken to Sunnybrook hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Cromwell has ties to the city of Windsor, though he lived in Toronto.

Investigators continued to canvass for witnesses in the area on Friday.

Police have not released any suspect descriptions, but say two men were seen running westbound on Woolner following the shooting.
