A 10-month-old baby boy was pulled from a backyard pond in Mississauga Thursday.

Peel Police said the boy was found without vital signs at a home on Glen Erin Drive around 4 p.m.

Emergency responders were able to get a faint pulse from the baby and worked to stabilize him for several hours.

Ornge Air Ambulance said the child was going to be transported to Sick Kids hospital by land ambulance around 9 p.m.

Police said they are conducting a full investigation into the incident.
