Peel Regional Police say one person is in custody after the body of a man was discovered inside a Mississauga home, early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to a home on North Alarton Street, near the corner of Derry and Airport Roads, at about 3:15 a.m. and discovered the body of a 63-year-old man.

Police said the body showed obvious signs of trauma.

Const. Thomas Ruttan confirmed that a 51-year-old man turned himself into police early Tuesday morning.

The victim's identity will not be released to the public, Ruttan said. He said there was no danger to the public and that the homicide was an isolated incident.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death and would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything in the Mississauga neighbourhood Monday evening.
